First up is the sizzling “Survivin”, collaboration with disco legend Leroy Burgess (Universal Robot Band, Logg, Dazzle, Fantastic Aleems). “Survivin” continues where “Rough Times” left off - live bass, guitar and drums, a killer chord progression and boogie synths come together for some pure live timeless disco house.

Who better to deliver a lyric about the tough state of the times than Mr Barely Breaking Even himself - Leroy Burgess? This is live disco at its best which even hardcore purists have said sounds like it could have been from one of Leroy’s classic albums.

The new mixes from Joey Negro pump up the live drums and add more energy for the dance floor. Choose from the full song on Joey Negro’s Club Mix, the more instrumental Joey Negro Boogietown Mix which utilizes the Patrick Adams style chorus chords and squelchy 80s synths.

While the Funkdown Mix takes the bassline driven central section and rocks it for 6 mins with Leroy ad libbing over the groove. In these techy times, there aren’t many records like “Survivin” around, maybe because it’s not what’s deemed “cool” or it’s just too damn costly for many producers to justify making, so please show your support and give this song some exposure.
